VegFest Brighton 2016: My Favorite Exhibitors

Meet my 3 favourite exhibitors from VegFest Brighton 2016 who prove that being having a healthy plant-based vegan diet doesn’t have to be boring.

Conscious chocolate

I ate A LOT of chocolate over the weekend but Conscious Chocolate got the best review. This raw chocolate bar is good for your health (it’s refined sugar-free and low GI), the environment (the packaging is biodegradable) and the producers (the ingredients are ethically sourced). So it’s a win win win!

The chocolate has a wonderfully soft, melt-in-the-mouth texture. Importantly, they have a really diverse range of flavours and ingredients, including lime and grapefruit (which I bought), blue-green algae and liquor bars (vodka, brandy or rum)! That means your bound to find one you like. It’s also more affordable than some of the other healthy or vegan brands, but it’s equal or better quality. You can buy it online or from selected health food shops.

Peach & Ginger Cakes

These cakes tasted and good as they looked, which is pretty incredible. I sampled a raw snickers and raw chocolate brownie but decided to buy the raspberry cheesecake. The base was slightly crumbly and my boyfriend was impressed that the base seemed more like a conventional biscuit cheesecake base than some other ‘healthy’ versions we’ve tried. That’s a phenomenal accolade considering that he only grudgingly admits he likes healthy vegan food! The ‘cheese’ part was  equally delicious- perfectly smooth and creamy, with a slightly tart burst of raspberries. Peach & Ginger currently sell from Southsea Cofee and take bespoke ordered in the Portsmouth area. They should be selling online soon but until then check out their website if you don’t live in the area but want some #veganfoodporn.

Sweet Revolution- Turmeric Latte

Sweet Revolution have created an instant turmeric latte drink made with coconut milk powder and sweetened with coconut sugar. All you need to do is add hot water then mix and you’ve got yourself a yummy, health-boosting drink. It’s easy to make and would be perfect to drink in the evenings if you get peckish between dinner and bedtime. This product is so new it’s not even on their website yet!! But you should be able to buy it online soon.

What are the vegan products that keep you healthy and psyched?

Hi. Thank you for your comment. Yes I am. I feel fine about wearing it because I bought it prior to going vegan. I wouldn’t buy one now, but I don’t feel I should give this one away.
