Well now we have more mango madness, this time with turmeric tea.
If you’ve never thought to use tea in your smoothie before then now’s the time to try it.
I’ve use chia tea to flavour my smoothies and porridge before. So when I got turmeric tea in my Superfoodio box I immediately started thinking how I could to use it in a smoothie. The tea contains turmeric root, ginger, cinnamon and lemon grass. These flavourings have powerful anti-inflammatory effects and can help your body to function efficiently. You’d need more than one cup of tea to see the benefits, but every little helps.
Turmeric has a slightly spicy bitter taste, so I balanced this by pairing it with a sweet mango. The colour of the mango also enhances the subtle yellow from the tea. Adding extra tea on top gives you a hit of flavour but stops the whole bowl from being overpowering.

- 3/4 cup turmeric tea (make the night before to allow it to cool down).
- 2 frozen bananas
- 1/2 – 1 Mango
- 1/2 cucumber with the skin removed
- 1 tsp coconut oil.
- 1 tbsp coconut flakes
- 2 slices of mango
- 1 tsp turmeric tea
- Add all of the ingredients to the blender and whizz until smooth.
- Transfer to a bowl, decorate with the toppings and enjoy.
