It’s packed with vitamins and minerals from 3.5 servings of fruit and 1 serving of veggies. For extra oomph add in the optional superfood and protein powders. What’s more it tastes deliciously mild and fruity.

I actually created this smoothie when I woke up feeling like I was getting a cold. It’s specifically designed to boost your immune system and promote good digestion. But it’s also perfect for every day because it tastes so deliciously mild and fruity.

The ultimate green smoothie recipe


  • 2 frozen bananas
  • 2 handfuls spinach
  • 1 cup fresh ripe pineapple chunks
  • 1/2 cup coconut water
  • 1-2cm fresh ginger (1/2-1 tsp powdered ginger)
  • Juice of 1/2 a lime
  • 1-2 tbsps hemp protein powder
  • 1 tsp green powder- I used Primrose’s Kitchen (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp baobab powder (optional)
  • Toppings:
    • 1 kiwi
    • 1/2 cup blueberries


  1. Blend together all of the ingredients then transfer to a bowl and add your toppings.

Did you know….

The quality of your fresh produce really effects the taste of the smoothie. If you use ripe fresh pineapple as I’ve suggested you’ll have a yummy sweet smoothie. But if you use a hard underripe one the smoothie will be more sour!! If you really can’t find a nice fresh pineapple you could use canned pineapple in natural juice. But whatever you do please please please don’t use the one in syrup.
